WELCOME TO PRE-K 4!
Fun Times With
We had a fantastic week in Pre-K4! Everyone was so happy to see each other after our break. We had our egg hunt and had fun finding and counting out our 12 eggs. The Easter bunny filled up our bunny cups while we were gone and the students were so excited to get all of their surprises!
Our letter of the week was T and we learned that it is a consonant, practiced the proper formation, and completed some T word activities.
Amazingly, a staff member spotted a wild turkey outside on the playground during T week! He ran off into the woods, so the children decided to build a big nest on the hill to coax him to come back. The students displayed such ingenuity and teamwork!
For our math lesson we used tools for measuring and learned some of the equipment used to measure length and weight. We used counting cubes, rulers and tape measures to find the length of items. We used ribbon to measure our height and sent it home attached to a special poem.
We used a balance scale to compare the weights of different items. The students did very well with predicting the heaviest item as we weighed each pair.
Our religion lesson taught us that God is very happy when we help each other. Since our Lenten project the students now realize how helpful and kind they can be to their families and friends. I was so impressed with the number of "random acts of kindness" hearts that were sent back to school! I'm so proud to have such a kind class!
We discussed different types of transportation and made a mini transportation book called, Things That Go. The students colored and cut the pages apart and placed them in page number order. They were able to read the story and did a fabulous job! They were very excited to read it to their families too.
